PURPOSE:To enable to securely recover the thermal energy of a drain, by a method wherein a high-temperature high-pressure drain is separated into a gas and a liquid, the vapors separated are directed into a cooler, and heat exchange is conducted. CONSTITUTION:An unstable drain at a high temperature and a high pressure is directed into a closed container 1 through an intake part 2 for the unstable drain, and is separated into a gas and a liquid. The liquefied drain is accumulated in the container 1, while the vapor separated are directed into the cooler 4 provided on the top face of the container 1. In the cooler 4, heat exchange is conducted between the vapor and cooling water which flows from an inflow port 8 for the cooling water to a discharging port 10 for the cooling water through an upper-stage heat-exchanging pipe 5a, an intermediate-stage heat-exchanging pipe 5b and a lower-stage heat-exchanging pipe 5c. Accordingly, the thermal energy of the drain can be securely recovered. |
