PURPOSE:To increase the mechanical strength of both bimetal sections and obtain a color picture tube with excellent resistance to shock by forming a curved end that is opposed to the joining area of the reinforcing bimetal into a free end and joining the joining area of both bimetal sections or its vicinity to a frame. CONSTITUTION:A sketch of the assembly method for a shadow mask frame and a support piece is shown. A support piece 14 and a temperature compensating bimetal 13 are joined together at the former welding points 16 and 16' and the latter welding points 17 and 17', respectively. The other end side of the temperature compensating bimetal 13 forces a reinforcing bimetal 15 and a frame 12 that are invented by this invention to be joined together at the respective welding points 18 and 18', 19 and 19', and 20 and 20'. As a result, mechanical strength can be improved without changing temperature compensating properties and a color picture tube which does not generate color purity failure can be provided in any transport conditions. |
