PURPOSE:To extremely enlarge the degree of freedom of the installing location of the light source, by connecting the light source for lighting which outputs monochromatic illuminating lights of plural hues by periodically switching and the lighting section of the original with a light guide. CONSTITUTION:A filter 9 is synchronously rotated by a motor 10. When one of each color R, G, and B of the filter 9, for example the R-section, a xenon lamp 8, and the end section of a light guide, through which the light is inputted, are arranged in one line, a shaft encoder 11 generates a luminous trigger signal 102 and the xenon lamp 8 is excited to emit light for a fixed time. The light is condensed in the vicinity of the light inputting end of the light guide after it passes through the R-section of the filter 9 and becomes a red monochromatic light. The condensed light reaches a light transmitting section 2a of an original plate 2 and lights an original 1. The light reflected by or transmitted through the original 1 forms an image on a photoelectric reading element 5, and the scanning on the image is started by a scan trigger signal 101, and thus, all bits are scanned. This procedure is performed in the same way on the next G and B sections. |
