PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for casting and metallic work of die surfaces, and to manufacture a die with sufficient precision easily, by using three supplemental parts as die surfaces for an upper and a lower die and a spacer, respectively, and using superplastic alloy. CONSTITUTION:At least three supplemental parts 1 as products are used and fitted to frames 2 and 3 to manufacture a model 4 for a lower die and a model 5 for an upper die. In this case, the supplemental parts 1 constitute die surfaces of those models 4 and 5. Further, one supplemental part 1 is stuck as a spacer to the die model 4 or 5. Then, blocks of superplastic alloy for the upper and lower dies are heated up to a superplastic temperature region which matches with the superplastic alloy, and the upper and lower die models 4 and 5 are pressed against those blocks to perform formation at a superplastic generation strain speed. Thus, the lower die 6 and upper die 7 made of the superplastic alloy are formed and finished into press dies by being cut. |
