PURPOSE:To improve the thermal efficiency of the water tank by a structure wherein a large number of thermal conductors, one end of each of which is extended into the ground, are possessed to the tank main body, which is imbedded under the ground, of the water tank for cooling or heating the stored water utilizing subterranean heat. CONSTITUTION:The tank main body 2 of the water tank is imbedded in the ground 4 by assembling in the form of a box with the material such as reinforced concrete, metal plate or the like so as to form a water storage space 2a within the main body 2, the closed box-like heat pipes 3... contg. a wick impregnated with a, working fluid such as ammonia or the like, are provided at the side wall 2b of the tank main body in such a manner that each heat pipe 3 pierces the side wall 2b of the tank mainbody from the ground 4 into the water storage space 2a so as to expose itself. In addition, a feed water pipe 6 and a pumping pipe 7 are provided at the upper part of the tank main body 2. Owing to the structure as described above, the heat transfer between the water 6 stored in the tank main body and the ground can be rapidly performed, resulting in enabling to improve the practicability of the water tank. |
