The windings having good thermal and water resistance were manufd. Thus, uncalcined soft assembly mica sheets and glass cloth were bonded with a blend of 95% condensation polymn. type silicone and 5% addn. polymm. type silicone dissolved in toluene to 50% nonvolatiles content, and the composite was cut into 25 mm-wide tapes. The tape were wound around a bare elec. conductor, vacuum impregnated with a bisphenol A diglycidyl ether-diphenylmethane diisocyanate copolymer varnish, and cured 20 hr at 100-150≦̸C and 4 hr at 200-220≦̸C.
