PURPOSE:To effectively cool a moving printing head by a method in which a pinion engaging with a rack provided to a guide for a mover is provided to the mover and the pinion is turned and a cooling fan is turned with the movement of the mover. CONSTITUTION:A rack 7 is attached to a guide 6 to guide the movement of a mover 3 and engaged with a pinion 8 provided to the mover 3. When a feed motor 5 turns, and the mover 3 is moved through a feed screw 4 in the direction of printing, the pinion 8 is turned. The rotation of the pinion 8 is accelerated by gear rows 9a and 9b, whereby a cooling fan 10 is turned at high speed. Thus, the heat produced by the printing head 2 moving in a wire dot matrix type printer or the like can be effectively dissipated to cool the head 2. |
