PURPOSE:To perform the best discrimination of a distorted signal when discriminating a binary signal, by deciding on a current binary signal on the basis of the past discrimination result. CONSTITUTION:A received signal inputted from an input terminal 100 is converted by an A/D converter 101 into a K-bit digital signal, which is inputted to an L-stage shift register 102. The output of the shift register 102 corresponds to L samples of the received signal, and a succeeding address generator 103 specifies an address of a storage circuit 104. (The address is the output of the shift register 102). A storage circuit 104 has an adaptive discrimination function and puts the discrimination function in operation for the address, and its output is supplied to a discriminator 104 to perform a binary decision. On the basis of the decision result, the address generator 103 and storage circuit 104 are controlled to update their contents in follow-up to the decision result. |
