PURPOSE:To designate objective of disc cache in details, by providing a list of an objective area for a disc cache controller. CONSTITUTION:A disc cache controller 3 is provided with a Tag decoder 6 interpreting a command from a magnetic disc controller 2, a table scan lock 7 moved when the table check is required through the result of this interpretation, a memory 8 storing the table and a microprocessor 9 performing the renewal processing of the table. Further, whether or not a track address with the command is included in the extent of an extent table of the memory 8 is checked with a logic 7. As a result, when the objective address is included in the extent, the transfer on the disc cache is made in case of hit and the staging from the track on the disc 5 to the disc cache is made in case of fault. |
