PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a device and to increase the speed of processing, by scanning the weld line preceding to a welding torch by means of spot light thereby detecting the reflected light from a groove part and moving the torch. CONSTITUTION:The spot light 8 from a light source 6 is reflected by a scanner 7, and is irradiated toward the advance direction 4 from a welding torch 3 at a constant angle alpha to the upper surface of a flat plate 1 preceding by a constant distance l1. In this time, a measuring device 9 for the position of the light spot moves integrally with the torch 3 in the position preceding by the constant distance l1 from the torch 3 toward an advancing direction 4. Therefore, the spot light 8 from the light source 6 detects the weld line 2 in the position preceding by the distance l1 from the torch 3 by means of the device 9. |
