PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a sheet feeding device itself in the amount corresponding to the unnecessity of an exhaust sheet tray by using as a tray for placing recovered sheets a cover detachably arranged on a sheet feeding cassette. CONSTITUTION:The uppermost sheet of the sheets in a sheet feeding cassette 4 mounted at a frame 3 of a sheet feeding device 2 placed on a body cover 1 of a printer is fed through a feed roller 6, guide plates 8, 9 and a pressure roller 10 to a platen 5 in the state depressed by a friction pad 7, and is printed by a printing head 11. This sheet is then exhausted upwardly of the cassette 4 through a bale roller 12, guide plates 13, 14 and exhaust sheet rollers 15, 16, and is recovered upwardly of the cover 17 pivotally secured to a shaft 18 of the cassette 4. |
