PURPOSE:To reduce the mechanical vibration and to improve the durability of an ultrasonic probe, by arraying the vibration elements of a spliting oscillator so as to make the beams projected from these vibration elements form a conical surface where the focal point of the beam serves as an apex. CONSTITUTION:For an ultrasonic probe 10, a support member 40 is fixed, a split oscillator 70 is arranged to the member 40 and a sound insulator 11 is provided around the member 40. The oscillator 70 contains seven spliting vibration elements 701, and these elements are arrayed along the head-cut conical surface 401 formed at the tip of the member 40. Then the insulator 11 is turned, and the opening 111 of the insulator moves on the oscillator 70. Thus each element 701 is vibrated synchronously with the change of position of the opening 111. As a result, a fan-shaped scan is possible for a beam with the oscillator 70 in the fixed state. This reduces the mechanical vibration and increases the durability for the probe 10. |
