摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the charging efficiency with a simple constitution by controlling the ON/OFF-valve in the branched passage which connects the inlet passage part to the swirl-terminating part of the captioned port so as to be opened when the amount of air taken-in increases over a certain value. CONSTITUTION:The inlet passage part A in a helical-type intake port 6 and the terminating part of the swirl part B which is connected to the inlet passage part A and formed around an intake valve are connected through the branched part 14, which is opened and closed by a rotary valve 18. Said rotary valve 18 controls the control valve 36 communicating to the air by means of an electronic controlled unit 50, and the amount of the air taken-in is controlled by controlling a negative-pressure disaphragm device 30 through the valve 36. Said unit 50 is constituted so that the valve 18 is opened, when the amount of the air take-in increases over a certain value, according to the output signal of the air-flowmeter 26 installed on the upstream side of the surging tank 24 in an intake passage 23.
