PURPOSE:To prepare the titled substance, economically, in an industrial scale, by treating cystine.bishydantoin with cultured product or cells, etc. of microorganisms belonging to Bacillus genus, Corynebacterium genus, etc., thereby hydrolyzing the hydantoin ring. CONSTITUTION:Microorganisms belonging to Bacillus genus, Corynebacterium genus, Mycobacterium genus, Nocardia genus, or Pseudomonas genus, e.g. Bacillus species (FERM-P No.6056) Pseudomonas striata, Nocardia corallina, etc. are cultured in a medium added with pyrimidine nucleic acid base or its derivative to obtain cultured product, bacterial cells, or treated bacterial cells. The objective N,N'-biscarbamoyl-D-cystine is prepared by treating cystine.bishydantoin with said cultured product, etc. in an aqueous medium at 7-9pH. |
