CONSTITUTION:At the predetermined crank angle MPU62 will repeat the peak hold of a sensor 12 signal through a peak hold circuit 50 during the knock detection interval to contain the maximum held level (a) in a RAM64. It is decided to be knockless from the background level A and a constant K if a<=K.A to bring the new background level to (9A+a)/10, while when the knocking is not produced more than predetermined times the firing timing of said cylinder is led by Y. While when it is decided to be knocking from a>K.A, the lead angle is reduced by X. Since such knocking control is performed for each cylinder, the accurate and correct knocking can be performed.
