摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To heighten the effect of braking action of an engine, by detecting the deceleration of the engine in terms of the rate of change in its rotational frequency and the rate of change in the ratio of the quantity of intake air to the rotational frequency to effectuate fuel stoppage or the like. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 28, which receives the outputs of an air flow meter 10, an intake air temperature sensor 32, a water temperature sensor 34 and a rotation angle sensor 36, is provided for an engine equipped with a supercharger comprising a compressor 12 and a turbine 22. The control circuit 28 regulates a fuel injection valve 16 and a waste gate valve 23 in an exhaust by- pass 25. For that regulation, the control circuit 28 measures the rate of change in the rotational frequency of the engine and the rate of change in the ratio of the flow rate of intake air to the rotational frequency to identify it with the deceleration of the engine that the measured rates are larger than prescribed values. When the deceleration is identified, the solenoid 238 of the waste gate valve 23 is energized to open it and the injection time of the fuel injection valve 16 is made zero.</p>
