PURPOSE:To improve the starting characteristic of an engine by removing rapidly fuel attached to an ignition plug at the time of engine start by automatically increased air. CONSTITUTION:When an engine 1 is starting with a throttle valve 3 substantially closed, and in addition, an ignition plug 13 is in a wet state as well as ignition is missing, a control circuit 16 opens an electromagnetic control valve 6 to open a bypass passage 5. As a result of this, the engine 1 is supplied with air through both of a slightly opened throttle valve 3 and the bypass passage 5, through not supplied with fuel, and therefore, the fuel attached to the ignition plug 13 is removed rapidly by the increased air. If the misfire of the ignition plug 13 is eliminated after the fuel removal therefrom, the electromagnetic valve 6 is closed so as to carry out a formal start of the engine 1. |
