PURPOSE:To prevent an unnecessary additional fuel supply at a time of gear change by a method wherein a changing speed of parameters representing the engine condition is discriminated and the additional fuel supply is restricted for a certain time period based on the discrimination. CONSTITUTION:In a control system in which a fuel control means 5 is controlled by a means 9 which calculates a reference fuel amount in response to the output of a means 7 for detecting an intake air amount which represents the engine condition, the followings means are additionally provided; a means 8 for detecting the changing speed of the intake air amount, means 11 for discriminating a reduction based on the output of the means 8 which includes a time limiter 12, means 10 for calculating an amount of fuel to be supplied additionally based on the output from the means 8, and fuel control means 13 for controlling the means 5 based on a combination of the outputs from the means 9 and 10. In operation, for example, when reduction signals more than a predetermined number is provided from the means 8, the means 11 operates the means 12 to restrict or eliminate the fuel addition for a certain period of time, thereby preventing the additional fuel supply during this time period even if an acceleration signal is generated from the means 8. |
