AUTOMATIC WAVEFORM EQUALIZER FOR TELEVISION SIGNAL

PURPOSE:To compensate the degrading of waveform equalizing ability to chroma cmponents, by providing a color component emphasis filter for the input side of a transversal filter. CONSTITUTION:The 1st and 2nd filters 41 and 42 are connected to the input and output of a transversal filter 2. The tap gain of the transversal filter 2 is switched depending on the position of a differentiation pulse in a vertical synchronizing signal waveform. The 1st filter 41 connected to the input side of the filter 2 emphasizes the chroma signal frequency components in a television signal. The deficiency in the chroma signal frequency components is compensated with this filter 41 and the ghost eliminating ability to the chroma signal components can be increased. The 2nd filter 42 attenates the chroma signal frequency components emphasized at the filter 41 in contrast with the 1st filter 41. Thus, the waveform equalizing ability to the chroma signal frequency components can be increased and the waveform equlization with less color ghost can be attained.
