PURPOSE:To highly maintain transmission efficienct in a full range of revolution of an engine and reduce its fuel consumption, by arranging a belt-driven speed change device and gear device between input and output shafts and selectively driving said speed change device and gear device. CONSTITUTION:At detection such that an engine increases its speed to at least prescribed high revolution further change ratio of a speed change device 10 is aligned to change ratio of a gear device 12, a computer generates an output signal operating an actuator 70 in such a manner as to connect a changeover device 46 to a driven gear 44. While at detection that driving power of an input shaft 6 is transmitted to an output shaft 8 through the gear device 12 and the engine decreases its speed to prescribed revolution or less further speed change ratio of the speed change device 10 and the gear device 12 is aligned, the computer generates an outut signal operating the actuator 70 in such a manner as to connect the changeover device 46 to a driven pulley 22, and driving power is transmitted through the belt driven speed change device. |
