In a covered goods wagon whose side walls each consist of at least three movable wall parts which, in the closed position, lie in a common plane and are moved transversely by means of an actuation device either into a sliding plane lying in front of the common plane and located parallel thereto and can be displaced in this plane in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, it is to be achieved by means of the invention that the central wall part is aligned before the movement out of the sliding plane into the closed position. According to the invention, this is achieved in that a spring-loaded, tiltable lever is arranged on the shaft which moves the central wall part transversely. The said lever interacts with a cam which is attached to this wall part. By means of the design of the lever and arrangement of the cam, the sliding process is terminated by the lever during the closing of the wall part and the wall part is held in the position which is predetermined for the pivoting into the closed position.
