The container valve is spring loaded so as to be normally closed and is fitted to the inside wall of the vessel. It is opened by a pivoting arm (8) through an operating lever (12). An auxiliary operating mechanism acts on a rear extension of the arm (8). The auxiliary mechanism consists of an operating bolt (22) which is screwed against a pivoting stop (21) and is used to free e.g. a sticking valve. The stop (21) is normally locked in an extended position by a sliding latch (25). A second, pivoting latch (29) is spring loaded so that when the sliding latch (25) is returned to its central position the second latch (29) springs back to its own central position, allowing the container valve to close rapidly.
