PURPOSE:To automatically change a gear if revolution reaches a prescribed speed, by utilizing cam action between conical members and balls through centrifugal force and pressing an engagement member to a friction member. CONSTITUTION:Many conical housing chambers 8a, 9a are circumferentially drilled at an equal distance in both surfaces, located at a face-to-face position, of a driving member 8 and engagement member 9, and ball-shaped centrifugally working members 10 are housed in said chambers 8a, 9a. If a main shaft 2 increases its rotary speed, the centrifugally working member 10 is radially moved to the outside by the centrifugal force, and the engagement member 9 is pressed rightward by cam action of the working member with the housing chambers 8a, 9a. The engagement member 9 overcomes tension of a spring 12, and is engaged to a friction plate 11, in this way, a centrifugal clutch is engaged. |
