A protection circuit to limit the amplitude of signals applied to a receiver 3 comprises an input capacitor C and two diodes arranged as shown between a constant voltage source 4 and a reference voltage, e.g. earth, and shunted by resistors R1, R2. The diodes are back-biased so that they do not conduct unless the input signal exceeds a predetermined value in either direction. The diodes are preferably of silicon, small signal, high frequency type.</p> |
