PURPOSE:To improve the inspection precision and reduce the time required for inspection, and to perform repair as well by evacuating the inner diameteric side of a rim and blowing gas for detection from the outer diametric side, thus detecting the presence of gas leakage, and then blowing a coating material for sealing to penetrate into a defective part in the material. CONSTITUTION:A feeder 2 is moved to set a rim 1 at an inspection position, and blind plates 5 and 6 are moved by operating cylinders 9 and 10 to clamp the rim 1, which is shielded internally from the outside air. After the rim 1 is evacuated through the operation of a roughing vacuum pump 16a nearly to a vacuum, a high vacuum is produced by a main process pump 16a. Then, a spray nozzle 24 for detection gas is brought down and the spraying of the gas is initiated. If the rim 1 has a fault, the gas is sucked to reach a leak detector 18 through piping 13, and is detected. Once leakage is confirmed, a solenoid valve 30 is opened to spray the external circumference of the rim 1 with a sealing material. The sealing material is sucked and enters the fault such as cracking, thus sealing the inside of the flaw. |
