PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain high transfer sensitivity, coat film fastness and solubility in organic solvents, by using that polyamide resin of those obtained by polycondensation of a polyamine with a polymeric fatty acid and a monocarboxylic acid of a specified general formula which has a specified softening point and a specified solution viscosity. CONSTITUTION:A resin for use in a heat-fusible material comprises a polyamide resin which is obtained by polycondensation of a polyamine with a polymeric fatty acid and a monocarboxylic acid of the general formula RCOOH (wherein R is a substd. or unsubstd. 1-20C satd. or unsatd. alkyl) and which has a softening point of 80-100 deg.C (ring and ball method, JIS K2531-1960) and a solution viscosity of 5-150cP (viscosity of 35% resin solution at 25 deg.C, measured by B-type viscometer by using a 2/1 mixed solvent of toluene and isopropanol). The resin is extremely suitable for use as a main constituent of the heat-fusible material for a thermal transfer ink, because of the low softening point thereof, and has a high transfer sensitivity. In addition, since tackiness is suppressed, the blocking resistance of an ink sheet obtained is favorable. |
