CRT with small metal brackets - welded inside control electrode and holding isolating ring

The tube has an electron gun with a cathode assembly containing a disc-shaped isolator. The isolator has a central hole containing a cathode support cylinder (30) in which the cathode sleeve (34) is suspended. The sleeve encloses the cathode's heating filament (39). The isolator is fixed to connecting pieces, which are in turn fixed to a pot-shaped control electrode. The connecting pieces are partially enveloped by the isolator (42) and consist of at least two small flat metal strips (42) each spot welded at its flat face to the inside of the wall of the control electrode (11). The strips may be independent L-shaped angle brackets embedded in the isolator or they may be part of a ring embedded in the isolator.
