PURPOSE:To manufacture a titanium alloy rolling material having a satisfactory texture, by heating an (alpha)+(beta) type titanium alloy material so that a grain boundary is migrated easily, also giving sufficient draft, migrating the grain boundary, and making the crystal grain finer. CONSTITUTION:A titanium alloy rolling material having a satisfactory texture is obtained by cogging an (alpha)+(beta) type titanium alloy ingot, and after that, heating it to 950-850 deg.C, controlling its surface temperature to 930-700 deg.C, rolling it continuously, and setting the whole rolling reduction to >=70%. At such heating temperature, the (beta) structure does not appear in large quantity, also in its temperature range, the grain boundary is migrated easily, and the surface temperature has been set to <=930 deg.C in order to control a temperature of the center part, and also due to the fact that a crack occurs in case of -700 deg.C. Also, when an equi-axed crystal forming treatment is executed to an obtained hot rolling material, the crystal structure is further fined and also made uniform. |
