PURPOSE:To create a precisely stepped end surface for an Si steel board lamination by a method wherein the lamination is pushed into the innermost of a flat U-shaped frame to abut against a step gage therein, when the lamination is processed for the formation of a desired stepped surface at its end. CONSTITUTION:In a process for the formation of a stepped surface wherein each member of the plurality of laminated Si steel boards 2L is stepped from each other, the Si boards 2L are accommodated in a frame 7 that is a U-shaped flat plate with the upper plane 8a shorter than the lower plane 8b that is parallel with the upper plane 8a. The innermost part of the frame 7 houses a step gage 6 constituted of a lamination 6X of gage boards 6a-6e equal to the Si boards 2L in thickness, and the gage 6 is pressed down by means of a spring 9. The Si boards 2L to be processed are inserted into the frame 7 and the exposed ends of the Si boards 2L are abutted against the stepped surface of the gage 6, whereby a stepped surface is reproduced in the steel boards 2L as desired. |
