PURPOSE:To obtain copied images of always good quality by changing the secondary destaticizing potential of a photoreceptor according to the rate of regulation with an image regulating means such as a dial for regulation of exposure or the like. CONSTITUTION:An n type semiconductor such as CdS is used as a photoreceptor 1, and the surface of said photoreceptor is charged uniformly at about 1,500V with a primary charger 2. Approximately at the same instant of image exposure, the surface is destaticized with a secondary destaticizer 3 of the polarity reversed from that of the primary charger or AC. The surface of the photoreceptor subjected to the secondary destaticizing receives uniform irradiation of light with a full surface exposure lamp 8. In the above-mentioned process, the latent image having electrostatic contract about 1/3 the primary charging potential is formed on the photoreceptor 1. Since it is possible to change the surface potential of the photoreceptor after destaticizing and to change the image characteristic while maintaining the quantity of irradiating light by changing the intensity of the secondary destaticizing corona by changing the applied voltage of a secondary voltage source 10, a volume control 11 for regulating the power source 10 and a volume control 13 for an exposure regulating dial for regulating the voltage of an electric power source 12 for exposure are regulated cooperatively. |
