PURPOSE:To secure the coupling between an electrode member and a glass bar, and stabilize the characteristic of an electron gun by providing a penetrating hole in the end part of the electrode member which is bured in the glass bar, and burying the end part of a supporting body into the glass bar so that the supporting body is perpendicular to the said end part of the electrode member and adjacent to the said penetrating hole. CONSTITUTION:For the purpose of stabilizing and increasing the coupling between a first electrode 3 and a glass bar 7, a penetrating hole 32 is provided in an end part 31 of the electrode 3, and the hole 32 is filled with the glass material of the bar 7 so that the glass contained in the hole 32 is compressed when the end part 31 contracts. Here, in order to make a sufficient amount of the above glass material to be packed into the hole 32, a supporting body 21 of a cathode support 2 is buried in the bar 7 so that the body 21 is perpendicular to the end part 31 and adjacent to the hole 32. By the means mentioned above, the electrode member can be securely fixed to the bar 7, and a stabilized characteristic of an electron gun can be realized. |
