PURPOSE:To provide a gear clutch device for a copying machine, etc. which can connect and mesh gears as the shafts of both gears including a connecting gear are moved in approximately approaching directions. CONSTITUTION:The figure illustrates the vector-like disposition constitution of a driving gear 6, a connecting gear 24, and a driven gear 10, that is, the vectors of the gear 24 determined by the disposition of gears and the rotating direction of the gear 6. A vector is obtained downward in the gear 24 shown by solid lines as shown in the figure at the contact point of meshing of the gear 6 and the gear 10. Therefore, the gear 24 acts in the biting direction for the purpose of obtaining the vector downward. On the other hand, if the gear 24 is disposed in such a position shown by, for example, dotted lines, the gear acts in the escaping direction as shown in the figure. Thus if the gear 24 is disposed as shown by the solid lines, only the force to drop the gear 24 is required and the holding force during transmission is not necessary. On the other hand, if the gear is disposed in the dotted line position, the holding force during transmission is dependent upon the transmission torque, for which extreme force is required. |
