PURPOSE:To always hold the display contrast of a display device at an optimum state by controlling the display contrast based on photometric data measured by a photometric means or a solid-state image pickup element in a camera. CONSTITUTION:Peripheral brightness around the camera is detected by an auxiliary mirror 5, a photodetector 6 and an amplifier 14 and converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter 15, the digital signal is transferred to a contrast control part 32 through a gate 10 and a prescribed control signal corresponding to a difference between the input digital signal and a previously determined reference value is formed in the control part 32 and applied to a liquid crystal display (LCD) driving part 36. Image data read out from a floppy disk 27 simultaneously with said operation are sent to the LCD driving part 36 as a digital image signal through a reproducing amplifier 33, a reproducing signal processing part 34 and an A/D conversion part 35. The LCD driving part 36 modulates, namely corrects the amplitude of the image signal obtained from the A/D conversion part 35 by a control signal obtained from a contrast control part and displays a clear image with sharp brightness. |
