PURPOSE:To control the light transmitting the parts desired to be masked in a copying machine, an image reader or the like by providing a liquid crystal panel divided to many pieces on the original plate side, and applying intermediate voltages upon the liquid panel of the parts desired to be masked in compliance with original paper. CONSTITUTION:Movable contacts 1, 2 are moved to connect the part A, that is, so that all of the contacts Y1-Y7, Y10-Y25 in Figure 1 are connected from both sides in the direction Y. Further, movable contacts 3, 4 are moved to connect the part A, that is, all of the contacts X1-X3, X9-X10 are connected from both sides in the direction X. As a result, the liquid panels on an original plate 6 are applied with voltage in all the parts except the range shown by the symbol A. Therefore, said part scatters incident light and the reflected light from the original is controlled. The exposure light source 8 in the parts other than the part A is scattered by the liquid crystals, thereby decreasing the reflected light from the original. Thus all the parts except the necessary part A are masked. Thereafter, the desired parts are masked freely by moving the movable contacts 1-4 similarly. |
