PURPOSE:To aim at smoothness in feeding fluid, by contracting a spring resiliently reacting to an abnormal pressure rise when pressure at the discharge side rises unusually, while decreasing reciprocating stokes by a rod in an automated manner. CONSTITUTION:When abnormal high pressure happens on the side of a discharge opening 6 for some reason or other whereby internal pressure of a pump casing 1 is abnormally intensified, a spring 36 succumbs to the abnormal pressure as the rod 11 goes forward so that resilient contraction in accord with suchlike pressure is produced. As a result, such drive that automatically contracts the stroke of the rod 11 is also produced, decreasing a capacity of expansion and contraction of the pump casing 1, and feeds fluid little by little or eventually almost nothing so that any damage resulting from the abnormal pressure is obviated. Like this, when abnormal pressure occurs in a reciprocating pump, the stroke of the rod 11 is lessened at once and it can cope with the abnormal pressure. |
