PURPOSE:To provide a gear clutch device for copying machine or the like by which gears are connected surely and quickly by providing means for inhibiting revolution for exerting load in the direction of inhibiting the revolution of a driven gear. CONSTITUTION:A leaf spring member 38 which is provided between the side surface of a driven gear 12 and housing 1, has a hole 381 fitting loosely onto a driven shaft 3, and is applied with stopper disposition by fitting of a notch 382 onto the projection 11 of the housing has a spring part 383. The part 383 has such a shape by which the side surface of the gear 12 is pressed and proper load is exerted thereupon. By the above-mentioned arrangement, the co-rotating by abutting of tooth tips on each other (rotating while the tips are in contact with each other) is prevented. The tips of a connecting gear 24 glide on the tips of a driven gear 10 until the teeth slip into recesses, whereby the gears are properly meshed. The pressure of the spring is required to be selected to adequate pressure without applying excessive load upon the electromagnetic clutch. Further in order to prevent the galling (irregular load) during revolution, the arm extended in the rotating direction of the gear 24 is deformed in the direction of the connecting gear. |
