PURPOSE:To easily execute repairing in case of breakdown, and to lengthen a life, by constituting a runner for separating a molten metal from a molten slag by the difference of the specific gravity installing a refractory brick house contg. runner bricks and packed with a granular refractory in its upper part, into housing frame through a shapeless refractory. CONSTITUTION:A runner for separating a molten metal from a molten slag by a difference of specific gravity is constituted in the following way. That is, in a runner brick house 2 constructed with a castable refractory material, or special form refractory brick, etc., runner brick 1 is placed, and its upper part is packed with a fine granular refractory 7 such as river sand, magnesia, etc. This brick house 2 is placed into a housing frame 3 made of iron shell, a space between both of them is filled with a castable shapeless refractory 6, and as for the upper part, a cover 4 is fixed by a stud 5. According to this constitution, even if the runner brick 1 is partially burnt out in the course of operation, no molten metal leaks to the outside owing to presence of the brick house 2, the packed refractory 6 and the housing frame 3, and also the passage can be repaired easily by taking off the cover 4. |
