Travelling wave loom weft insertion device - has compensating device to tension weft and contain weft bobbin within device housing

On a travelling wave loom, a weft insertion device has a compensating device for the weft bobbin in its body housing which allows two distinct and independent actions, one directed towards locking the weft bobbin plate against the body, so as to create tension in the weft yarn, and the other intended to hold the weft bobbin within the body housing to avoid any possibility of its being thrown out during the movement of the insertion device in the shed. The compensating device comprises a lever with one arm permanently co-operating with the support shaft of the weft bobbin and an elastic element under the upper plate of the weft bobbin. The upper plate is thus locked positively against the body housing, and the support shaft is held firm by a stop, so that the weft bobbin's re-entry into the housing is ensured. The problems of tensioning the weft yarn are resolved, and the weft bobbin is contained reliably within the housing of the insertion device.
