Press for roll-forging face of stub shaft flange - has work support table laterally movable on lower bed for work loading and unloading

The roll-forging press is partic. intended for shaping a contoured flange face on a flanged stub shaft, e.g. a back axle half-shaft. The upper shaping die (4,5) is held in a carrier (2) and swivelled by a drive (3) whilst the work is supported, flange uppermost, in a lower die (21) with opening (22) for the stub shaft and resting on a table (12) with corresponding opening (20). The table (12) in turn rests on a bed (6) which is upwardly pressurised (8) during the shaping operation. The bed has a longitudinal horizontal slot with which the openings are aligned, thus permitting the table (12) with the work to be laterally moved (in guides 13 by pneumatic actuators ) for loading and unloading the work outside the shaping die area.
