The ashtray for a vehicle comprises a receptacle (3) into which cigarette ends are placed. The cigarette ends fall under gravity into a waste disposal grinder (8) made up of two contra-rotating rollers carrying blades. The waste then falls down a tube (11) assisted by a turbine (10) towards a conical outlet (12), which disperses the waste into the airstream outside the vehicle. The receptacle has a pivoting cover (4) which, when displaced, actuates a motor (9) to drive the waste disposal grinder (8) and turbine.
