<p>Grinder for wet grinding processes using grinding balls of the order of 1 mm dia. employs a closed grinding chamber consisting of a water-cooled rotor turning within a fixed water-cooled stator of less than twice the solor dia. A series of bosses on both rotor and stator, occupying at least 5% of the working volume of the device, serve to agitate the contents. Coarse wet prod. is pumped into the machine and ground prod. leaves via a classifying aperture which prevents loss of grinding balls. Used in wet grinding of pigments, paints, cosmetics and pharmaceutical products; the device uses less energy and produces less heating of product than similar devices hitherto.</p> |
