PURPOSE:To enable perfect combustion of pulverized coal and to minimize coke consumption by blowing the pulverized coal of the amt. satisfying the specific conditions associated to the molar amt. of O2 under blasting together with the oxygen-enriched air regulated to an adequate oxygen partial pressure from tuyeres into a blast furnace. CONSTITUTION:The pulverized coal is blown together with the air into the blast furnace from the tuyeres and smelting is executed contriving at reduction of coke consumption. The air to be blasted from the tuyeres in the above- mentioned operating method for the blast furnace is enriched with O2 and the oxygen partial pressure Po2 expressed by the equation PO2=(amt. of O2 in the air+amt. of enriching O2)/(amt. of air+amt. of enriching O2)Xblasting pressure (absolute pressure) is regulated to Po2>1 atom (absolute pressure). The amt. of the pulverized coal to be blown form the above-mentioned tuyeres is set within the conditions 1<= (molar amt. of C in the grained coal)/(molar amt. of O2 during blasting)<2. The straight discharge of the pulverized coal from the furnace top is thereby prevented and the blast furnace is stably operated while the amt. of the coke to be consumed before the tuyeres is suppressed as best as possible. |
