PURPOSE:To finish efficiently a fine mirror surface which is high in the surface preciseness, by pressing and moving back and forth and to the right and left a grinding stone, whose undersurface is funnel-shaped, relatively to a work while the grinding stone is being rotated. CONSTITUTION:A work 25 is placed on a table 1 and is moved back and forth by a feed screw 11. The grinding stone 6 whose undersurface is funnel-shaped is provided at one end of a swinging body 4, is presses under a certain pressure by a balance weight 7 onto the work 25, and is driven by a motor 12 to rotate about a rotating shaft 5. The swinging body 4 is attached on a slider 2 to be able to swing about a bearing shaft 3, and is moved to the right and left by a feed screw 20. While the grinding stone 6 is rotated, when it is moved back and forth and to the right and left relatively, the ground surface will have a twilled pattern wherein fine arcs are crossed, and thus a high quality mirror surface can be obtained. |
