PURPOSE:To increase substantially the function for grinding a free and curved surface, by providing a pair of grinding wheels at the forward end of an industrial robot arm or the like such that it can be moved forward and backward, can be spun and turned about, and can be oscillated in accordance the surface to be machined. CONSTITUTION:A bracket 2 is provided at the forward end of the industrial robot arm, and is provided with a cylindrical body 6 such that it can be moved forward and backward by a cylinder apparatus 5. The pair of the grinding wheels 23a, 23b are provided at the forward end of the cylindrical body 6, and can be driven to spin by a motor 16. The grinding wheel 23a, 23b can be rotated about a shaft 7a by a motor 7, and can also be oscillated about bearing shafts 14a, 14b in conformity with the inclination of the surface of the work W. When the driving motor 16 is driven, a grinding stone rotating shaft 20 integral with bevel gears 19, 21 is rotated at high speed. Then the grinding wheels 23a, 23b are rotated to grind the surface W1 of the work W under a preset pressure. |
