The invention relates to an exchangeable container on iron wheels for rail and road traffic, which container is transferred on wheels from the rail vehicle to the road vehicle. Containers of this type can only be transferred at great cost using modern cranes at a central location. The transfer of the exchangeable container on wheels can take place in a simple manner without great technical expenditure at any desired siding track with an end-loading ramp. For this purpose, the exchangeable containers must be equipped with four wheels. These roll in U-shaped rails which have to be mounted on the rail car, on the end-loading ramp and on the semi-trailer. For the transfer, rail connections are made from the rail car to the ramp and from the ramp to the semi-trailer. The exchangeable container on wheels can then be pulled from the rail car via the end-loading ramp onto the semi-trailer. The main advantage lies in the technically simple transfer device which can be mounted on site quickly at many siding track locations and can lead to a haulage network covering the entire country. <IMAGE>
