Three-dimensional workpieces, for example dashboards for vehicles, are produced by an initially flat piece of plastic material being held in or on a main mould during all necessary working steps, such as for example initial forming, foaming, curing, trimming. The main mould is moved back and forth in a certain direction, in order to interact with secondary moulds and trimming tools one after the other in each case. The secondary moulds are likewise moved back and forth, to be precise in a direction which runs essentially perpendicularly to the direction of movement of the main mould. The hourly output is virtually doubled if two main mould parts interact in each case with two of a total of three secondary moulds. Preferably, three working stations are arranged next to one another, so that two main mould parts, which are firmly connected to each other, can travel back and forth in order to interact with the secondary moulds in the neighbouring stations. |
