PURPOSE:To obtain a band saw blade suitable for cutting relatively hard wood, by vertically moving a grinder, which is rotating, together with the grinding head, so that the grinder approaches a fixed band saw blade to grind and finish its set surface. CONSTITUTION:The body material of the endless band saw blade 1 that is to be ground is provided with teeth 3 around the whole circumference, and the teeth 3 are grouped, each group containing four teeth. The first, second, third and fourth teeth in each group are designated 31-34, respectively. The teeth in the group are ground and set first into a usual shape of set of dovetail teeth, and the tip part of the first tooth 3 is set to have the right and left inclined flanks. Then the second and third teeth 32, 33 are ground to have the sets asymmetrical with respect to the blade, and the fourth teeth 34 has a symmetrical set of dovetail tooth. Thus the desired blade can be obtained. |
