<p>The heat-sink is designed as a pot-in-a-pot system. Heat is removed from the field packet and passed on to a heat transfer medium in the toroidal gap between the two pots. The materials used are thin. The system is radially symmetric with uniform heat extraction. The bottoms of the pots are spherical. Grooves on the inside ensure radially-symmetric flow in the gap and therefore uniform heat removal from the wall of the inside pot. The two pots are bolted together at flanges but can be separated for cleaning.</p> |
