PURPOSE:To obtain a device with high reliability, by arraying plural sensor heads on which a slit type nozzle has been formed, extending over the overall length in the lengthwise direction of a roll, and detecting the spalling from OR of an output of a pressure switch operated by said sensor head. CONSTITUTION:Plural sensor heads 2 on which a slit type nozzle having prescribed length has been formed are arrayed in the vicinity of the surface of a roll 1 and also extending over the overall length in the lengthwise direction of the roll 1. Also, a plate spring 8 for supporting these plural sensor heads 2 so that they can be displaced in the diameter direction of the roll 1, plural admission ducts 9 for press-feeding air of prescribed pressure to each of plural sensor heads 2, and a pressure switch 12 operated by prescribed pressure, which has been installed to each of these plural ducts 9 are provided. In this state, from OR of outputs of these pressure switches 12, spalling is detected. |
