This light barrier has an emitter and a detector for light radiation, in which the emitter (1) and the detector (2) are located on a common optical axis and the detector (2) utilises the scattered light which is reflected by the mirror (4) from the optical radiation which is aligned in parallel via a lense system (3), and processes it by an amplifier into a signal which can be used further electronically, a light source (5) for visible light, which is adjustable in the axial direction and can be inserted being arranged in the same optical axis and generating, via a concentric ring or segment diaphragm (6) by a special optical construction of the outer ring (7) of the existing lense system (3), an adjusting light spot (8), which can be set to any distance but is located on the same axis as the optoelectronic system, both for adjustment and for checking the operation of the reflection-type light barrier.
